A Major Acquisition for United Schüller, who has half a year left on her contract, is known as a consistent goal-getter for her club and the national team. She has scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing is viewed as a major coup for the WSL side. Her exit from Munich was expected after she appeared to be fighting back tears while applauding the club's fans following a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently. It was reported in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its leading strikers. According to reports, all the paperwork for the transfer are now finalised. Consistent Goalscoring to Boost United's Attack The 28-year-old’s arrival should represent a major uplift to the team's forward line. She has been highly reliable in front of goal in Germany’s top flight. For seven straight seasons, including the most recent campaign, she reached at least a double-digit tally of league goals. She won the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with 16 goals. Building Steam at Carrington The acquisition of the German international coincides with a period when the club seem to be gathering momentum. Recent on-pitch successes include securing a place in the European knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals. In the transfer market, the winter break has seen further business: The signing of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal. The contract extension for Japanese playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, who has become fan favourite since arriving in 2023. On the midfielder's extension, a club official stated: “She has become a critical part to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and technical ability allows her and the team to control and dictate play from central areas.” The new defender, having joined from a club in the NWSL, said: “You can sense how much the club have grown in the last few years, competing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the top European competition.”
