Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son advised me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
