Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Get Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely let down if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced following a major charity concert held in the autumn. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of artists featured on Lullaby includes a group of prominent voices from the music world. All were part of the earlier concert, which successfully generated a substantial amount for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of talented individuals. The song showcases a mix of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The group managing the campaign have clarified that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a charitable pot. These resources will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Obviously, the more the merrier. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The reality in the territory was noted for its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of property said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a few million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from mid-December.
